I’m a Bristol-based,
senior freelance copywriter
with over 13 years’ experience.
Lately, I’ve been predominantly writing B2B thought leadership and native advertising for blue chip and government clients like CNN, Microsoft, and the UK Department of International Trade.
I have a history of making complex topics accessible, often pleasing “difficult” clients in the process.
I’m happy writing in most sectors, but am particularly suited to meaty topics like business, finance, logistics, and tech.
A bit about me
If you were a little old-fashioned, you might call me “well read”.
My childhood home was crammed with over 3,000 books (my dad catalogued them). I have a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Sussex (graduated 2007). I once impressed an economist by having read Das Kapital when he hadn’t.
I usually know something about a subject before I research a piece, which is invaluable for framing an appropriate narrative. And my analytic training means I can usually string a convincing argument together, even in unfamiliar areas.
I cut my copywriting teeth bouncing around the SEO agencies of Brighton, spinning articles for search rankings. My remit quickly expanded into everything from social posts for Sussex drain cleaners to FTSE250 pensions advice and the launch website for an easyjet-backed African airline.
Over time, I’ve ended up writing flagship editorial for some of the world’s leading companies and government departments – often condensing 100-page reports into 800-word articles, or interviewing CEOs and cabinet ministers.
My work has won at least one award (Native Advertising Awards 2024, Bronze, Best Native Advertising Program 2024, for DP World’s “The Logistics of Tomorrow” campaign).
And been shortlisted for at least one other (Lovie Awards 2023, Branded Content – Sustainability and Environment, for Invest in Canada’s “Canada Means Business” campaign).
And I once recorded an album in the same North London studio where Björk made Debut.
