About

I’ve been a professional copywriter for over seven years, first full-time at a digital agency, then as a freelancer.

I’ve written for clients of all sizes – FTSE listed multinationals to sole traders – in every conceivable sector: from Forex to drain cleaning in Sussex. I’ve defined the corporate voice for the fastest growing African airline and one of the biggest accounts consultancies in the world. I’ve written blogs for a family owned removals company and tweets for a makeup shop in London.

Writing is more than a profession for me. I started writing songs. Moved on to music journalism. I write poetry and prose. I have an intricate understanding of language that gives my copy a distinctive edge. An understanding of rhythm, rhyme, alliteration and cadence. I’m a musician, and I use the same skills to write copy that I use to write songs. To deliver energetic, memorable phrases that express sentiment as much as message.

Authoritative content is the cornerstone of online marketing. I have a broad knowledge base and excellent research skills that allow me to quickly understand new subjects and construct convincing copy. I graduated from the University of Sussex in 2007 with a BA(Hons) in Philosophy that taught me the highest standard of analysis, logic and language. I’m often hired by agencies to write the pieces their in-house writers struggle with, particularly where the topic is technical.

I’m currently based in Vienna – working remotely for clients in the UK – but I spent the preceding decade in Brighton, working with those at the bleeding edge of digital marketing. These are still my primary contacts, keeping me on top of what works, what gets you into trouble with Google, and what’s become old hat.

If you need words, I’ve got them. Get in touch and let’s discuss your project.
